PETA Journal Reflection 2
Today is the second meeting of PETA subject. In this session, i learned about “planning instruction”. As a teacher we need to have a good capability to make a planning of our teaching process. That’s why we need lesson plan as our guidance of learning process in our class room.
By using lesson plan teacher can create a learning process which is well planned. So that the teachers can facilitate and provide the students needs for developing themselves, and also to achieve the desired learning objective.
To create a good lesson plan, teacher should able to fulfill the teacher professional knowledge, which consist of knowledge of content that is going to be taught, knowledge of learners and learning, general pedagogical knowledge, and also pedagogical content knowledge. It means teacher should know everything about the class. It seems like the teacher is a captain, the class is a ship, and the student is the crew which always obey the captain’s words. So, teacher have a full responsibility of what is going to happen in the class, what is going to be taught in the class, what will the students do in the class, and also how to assess them as the result of their learning.
In addition before teacher make a lesson plan, there are 3 more aspects which should be decided. The first, teacher should identified the  desired results. The second, determine the acceptable evidence. And the third, teacher should consider the students characteristics and behaviors.
By those all the characteristics as the guidance for the teacher in creating a good lesson plan, teacher are expected can create the suitable learning process for their students. So, the students can learn easily and also enjoy the learning process.
